Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu
Your classic panda adventure begins upon your arrival in Chengdu, where a knowledgeable local guide will warmly welcome you. From the airport or train station, you will be transferred to a comfortable, air-conditioned hotel. Enjoy a relaxed introduction to Chengdu along the way. After check-in, feel free to take a walk around. Be sure to ask your guide for recommendations on local attractions and dining options—they’ll be more than happy to assist, even helping you order if needed. This is the perfect way to experience local life in Chengdu.

Day 2: Chengdu – Dujiangyan Panda Base – Qingcheng Mountain – Chengdu
Start your day with a hearty hotel breakfast, as today’s adventure requires energy and enthusiasm. As a panda volunteer at the Dujiangyan Panda Base, you will enjoy a truly unique and hands-on experience. Your guide will take care of all the details, escorting you through the entrance and introducing you to the panda keepers. You’ll clean the panda enclosures, prepare bamboo, make their favorite food, “Wowotou” (steamed corn buns), and learn scientific facts about pandas. You’ll also get an up-close view of how the keepers feed and train the pandas. The experienced keepers will supervise your activities, with translation provided by your guide. Don’t forget to capture plenty of photos, especially of the special certificate awarded to you as a souvenir of this memorable experience.

Day 3: Departing Chengdu
After checking out from your hotel, you’ll have the opportunity to visit Chengdu’s famous Kuanzhai Alley, a blend of ancient and modern architecture. As you stroll through these historic lanes, you can savor authentic Sichuan snacks, admire handcrafted goods, and experience the local way of life. Next, head to People’s Park to enjoy a peaceful moment while sipping Chengdu’s famous tea in a traditional tea bowl, absorbing the laid-back tea culture. Finally, you’ll be transferred to the airport or train station for your next destination.

·The age limit for the panda keeper program is between 8 and 70 years old. For children under 8 years old, they can participate in the standard visit activities of the Panda Base with adult accompaniment, but due to age restrictions, they cannot participate in the Panda Volunteer Experience.

·Only a maximum of 60 panda keepers are allowed to participate in this program per day, so it is recommended that you book at least two weeks in advance. Please understand that the itinerary may be adjusted based on the health status of the giant panda. Our travel consultant will provide you with the latest information promptly upon receiving notification.

·Each applicant participating in the Panda Keeper Program must provide valid medical examination records on the day of the event.

Exclusions:

· Transportation: International/domestic flights or trains to and from Chengdu

· Visa: China visa fees

· Gratuities: Tips for the guide and driver, and any personal expenses

· Meals: Lunch and dinner are not included, giving you flexibility in choosing your meals. Your guide can provide suggestions and help you order if needed

· Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is not included in the package. We recommend purchasing travel insurance before your trip for extra protection

· We recommend wearing casual and comfortable walking shoes.

Important Notes:

1. The panda keeper program has an age limit of 8 to 70 years old. For children under 8 years, they may join the standard panda tour at the base with adult supervision but cannot participate in the volunteer experience due to age restrictions.

2. As only 60 panda keepers are allowed per day, it is recommended to book this program at least two weeks in advance. 3. Each applicant for the panda keeper program must present a valid health certificate before the activity on the day.

4. Panda keepers are strongly advised to approach the animals cautiously under the supervision of their guides, and only with permission. While pandas may seem gentle, they are still animals, and their behavior can be unpredictable.

5. On the day of the panda keeper experience, wear pants and comfortable shoes with good traction. Avoid wearing perfumes, nail polish, strongly scented skincare products, sunscreen, and insect repellent, as pandas are highly sensitive to smells.
